I can view the interface using browser on the Win2k machine, but when I tried to 'Add printer' using the URL, it says cannot find the printer, blah. Anyone else tried this? Can't find much in google.

Windows doesn't do CUPS. Install Samba on the machine running CUPS and provide an smb share for it (Windows does do SMB... well, kinda, Samba has bug for bug compatability for Windows )

Thanks for the reference. Yes Win2K has native LPD support. I do run Samba and have used SMB for printing, but if there's a direct path to the printing system, I'd rather go there. BTW, how do I check cups version?

But I still don't understand all the big M$ talks about IPP, yet no product? Besides, anyone knows what 'Use URL' in its 'Add Printer' wizard means? It really doesn't look like LPD. Google indicates some 'product release' for IPP support in Win98 and 'beta release' in Win2k by 1999. Couldn't find further reference. (Maybe it's time to learn how to search M$ site
