I downloaded tomsrtbt program to my machine and created a linux boot floppy disk. My machine is an NT 4.0/ex-Linux system. ex-Linux because the partition is broken. I'm trying to get some c and perl source files from it. Apparently, the Linux partition got disturbed when I (long ago) formated the preceding empty partition, now F drive, for use with NT 4.0. I could never boot Linux after that.
I'm not sure I started in the right place from the How-To, but anyway here I am. I figured I'd see /dev/hda1 (C), /dev/hda2(D), /dev/hda3 (F), and /dev/hda4 (linux) partitions. No E, since that's my Zip drive. When I try to mount anything but /dev/hda1, I get an error. I finally used fdisk to look at the partition table, and see partitions 1,2, 5 and 6, which I assume are C, D, F and Linux. They are shown as FAT16, extended, FAT16 and FAT16. The total number of blocks adds up to 8G, which is very close to the capacity of the hard drive. My question is how do I mount these partitions. It may
be that 6, if it is indeed linux, can no longer be mounted.
