Now, who within the Linux community thinks they could sell a distro with 'LESS' and not 'MORE'?

Less is More
To answer your question: Lycoris sells a distro with less applications than usual.

This bit makes me laugh:
'Microsoft is likely to unveil its repackaged Real-Time Communications (RTC) Server in July, but not ship it until April 2003, according to sources familiar with the company's plans.'
Real-Time? MS? Ha ha ha. Grief it took them years to get to grips with pre-emptive multi-tasking. They still haven't mastered the concept of multi-user. Real-Time Communications? Not in my life time.

Hardly. You just accept packet delays. A realtime system must respond to data within a predetermined amount of time (to put it crudely). If a response on IRC takes a couple of seconds to get to you it doesn't matter. Now on a fly by wire fighter that could be kind of serious. Now I'm sure MS have grandiose plans for their RTC server. No doubt voice and video will be a major application for it. I'm sure you will just love pauses and lost frames because their server can't cope. Realtime systems are a very specialised market. I developed SW for over 10 years for realtime telecom systems. Its as much demanding on HW design as SW. MS know sweet FA about the first and are incompetent with the second.
