Error Log for Mon, 17 Jun 2002 12:54:38 -0400: segfault in module 'Richard Revis' - dump details are as follows...

The greatest instructor of all time is failure. Without it we cannot advance.

It's only when I break things that I realise my error and am able to adjust.

So, ironically, the more problems you have, the more you learn. Since things usually JustWork(tm) on Linux, I have to go out of my way to create problems by doing things I am not meant to do in order to learn from them.

With that other OS, things would break on their own without any intervention needed on my part. So I inadvertently learned whether I wanted to or not with it as well.

When I first started posting here last Winter, I said something on this point like 'On Windows I got an education because I was forced to because it wouldn't work; with Linux I get an education because I want to about the things I want to learn about.'

It can't be said too often.
