I see it as part of the growth process of Linux based technology but it is really annoying when it happens to you. So if this applies to you there is solution.
The problem from Ryan Naraine blog on ZDNet:
The U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) has issued a warning for what it calls “active attacks” against Linux-based computing infrastructures using compromised SSH keys.
The explanation how to solve the attack is there too so read the post.
Anyway it can be a nice challenge to close the entrance door for such attacks in the future as Linux would just draw more attention in the future. More attention means also more attacks so let’s be ready.
