I copied some mp3's to CD using Koncd and every single one of them now have clicks and pops in them. I wasted 3 blanks before I realized that linux is not up to the task of even copying some files to a cdrom. I wasn't even doing anything else when I was copying the files but Linux just can't seem to manage even the simplest of chores. Good thing I didn't delete them before I checked out the copies.Again linux proves that it is a lead bellie.

To put this mildly, I don't believe you. Why don't you go ahead and explain to me *TECHNICALLY* how the MP3 files have pops and clicks. Data written to a CD is either readable or not. IOW, the data is either written correctly or not. If it munged the MP3 files up, then it would have munged the filesystem of the CD up. Therefore, you wouldn't be able to do an ls command and see data that made any sense. Since you have quite obviously not told the truth here, I will treat further posts from you with well deserved skepticism.

So how you gonna cope when M$ physically bars you from doing anything with MP3 at all ?

Actually, I used Linux on a 266 mhz Mac to copy an audio CD. On the last track, there were some 'clicks and pops'. The rest of the tracks were fine. I then tried copying several cds on my 350mhz Compaq laptop, also using Linux (cdda2wav to HD, cdrecord to CD) and they were perfect. So, I expect Little Beaver may be telling the truth about the clicks and pops.
I sure would like to know what caused them in my case.
