Hi there,

icq, yahoo messenger, netmeeting... those things are getting more and more important and make fun. Yesterday I've tried yahoo messenger and found it funny: you can see people and talk (I mean speak) to yahoo users. But I don't like yahoo...

I'm interested in internet phone solutions for linux to talk to my girlfriend over the net instead of using the phone. Unfortunately I was not able to find something like that for linux to say nothing of tools to use in linux AND windows (so you can talk to windows and linux users).

Do you have any ideas?

bye,

I have no idea whether it is any good or not!

It mentions a win version also, but says it's not public domain.

I haven't used this yet, though I'm soon going to start playing with it. But this looks like it might work pretty decently for you. Since it is an H.323 application, it should communicate with *cough* net meeting. Good luck with using H.323 thru a firewall. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but it can be a royal pain to get it working right.

Ah, yess... exactly what I was looking for. It works, so far. But sound quality isn't great and the firewall problem is another question...

thanks

Check the FAQ: 6. Getting it to work behind a firewall 8.3. I prefer realtime-Sound/Bad-Video than Realtime-Video/Bad-Sound.
