Hi! I'd like to stream real media to my hdd, but my ideas so far did not work:

1) The Realplayer8 itself: Of course does not offer anything. 2) The realmedia-Plugin for xmms (rmxmms) combined with the Disk Writer-Plugin only shows the message, that it's forbidden (tested it a few weeks and a reinstall ago). 3) Realplayer8 per 'esddsp realplay' does only start half (you see a few gui-elements and get 100%cpu-utilisation for realplay 4) Realplayer8 per 'artsdsp realplay' works fine, but I could not find anything like 'esdmon' for arts to stream the raw data to disk.

My 5th plan is to try the esdmon while playing the realmedia through the xmms realmedia-plugin, but since www.xmms.org is in 'in a terrible mess' I can't get the plugin. (I downloaded the sources yesterday, but since I do not have the Real

Any further ideas?

Thx,

...and stuff should get written to myfile.wav. I think. Maybe you have to use rtsp://path/ or possibly mms://path/ ... try them all; I never use streaming media. Whether this will actually do you want is another question entirely.
