Charlie's interpretation of this, Bill Gates doesn't like to run Windows anymore and has become dis-interested in PC's all-together.

If you read the article, it seems to pan this conclusion out based on what Bill Gates is saying.

Windows and PC is boring to Bill Gates now.

I doubt he's ever liked running windows. I mean he can't be a complete idiot. All BG is interested in is monopolising as many areas of business as he can. It ain't money but just a sick desire to control anything he touches.

That isn't how I read it. The article mentioned that it was Balmer who decided on the complete, from scratch, rewrite of everything for longhorn. That wasn't the original plan but it is clear they cannot keep hacking away at the bug written poorly designed crud they have
